A really good phrase to think about...

"When one is at the top, it is easy to forget where you came from. The more power you have, the more humble you should be." - Hui Lan

What makes you weep?

I'm proud to say that I woke up this morning to go to church even though I slept at 4:30 AM last night trying to finish writing my paper! =D =D And I'm glad that I did because my heart was touched by God once again today through the sermon. I went to the Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church and they are doing a series of teaching about the book of Nehemiah. It is amazing because they don't even know what to preach about. They are doing this by faith, week by week, asking God to reveal more from the book!

Today, we read from the Book of Nehemiah, Chapter 1. Nehemiah heard the news about Jerusalem, about how the city was torn down and that the people were not doing so well. The city was a disgrace. After he heard the news, he "sat down and wept." His heart was broken into pieces to hear that his city and his people are in ruined. Ps. Paul, as he was preaching, recalled a verse in Luke 19:41 that says, "But as they came closer to Jerusalem and Jesus saw the city ahead, he began to WEEP." Jesus wept over Jerusalem because the people of the city did not turn to God. Now, what amazes me is that, Nehemiah's heart breaks with what breaks Jesus' heart. They share the same heart and compassion, which was for the people to know about God.

Today's take-home message for me is, what breaks my heart? What makes me weep? Does my heart break with the things that break Jesus' heart? I need to ask God to give me a broken heart for the people. I want to be able to share the good news that I have, the joy that I have from the Lord, this priceless happiness to people out there who are clueless about their purpose of living on this Earth.

I have more to share about today's sermon, but I think I will save it for another day. Keep yourselves tuned! =)

Happy Sunday!

I had a dream last night.. The dream was about a guy I used to like.. but apparently my Dad did not.. so I let him go.. I'm not even sure of my own feelings.. but, he was out of the question because he was not a Christian.. He was also out of the question because I knew that he was pulling me away from God.. but, I dreamed about him last night and I kinda missed him.. The dream was really sweet.. haizzz.. got to forget.. forget.. FORGET! I better get back to my paper now.. o_O

God listens when you praise...

"Do not grieve and be sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!" - Nehemiah 8:10b

"Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vine; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He will make me as surefooted as a deer and bring me safely over the mountains." - Habakkuk 3:17-19

"Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you your heart's desires." - Psalm 37:4

"Always be full of joy in the LORD. I say it again - rejoice!" - Philippians 4:4

My most listened track currently is When I Praise by Alvin Slaughter. I first discovered the song at Benny Hinn's choir practice last summer. I really liked the song but I couldn't find it anywhere. Then, after some time I forgot about it. Until last night when I suddenly remember the song and I really wanted to listen to it. So, I asked my brother to search and download it for me. I guess the song is not too popular, so he had a hard time finding it. After about an hour, he finally did! Although before he found it, I already went to amazon.ca to purchase the CD! =p

This song really bless me because it makes me feel important in the presence of the Lord. When I praise God, He listens. When I praise God, Heaven would stop its activities to listen to me. When I praise, He comes to meet me. I hope this song can bless you too as it did to me! =)

I wish I could provide you with a link to the song on imeem, but it doesn't have it. When I have time, I will upload it there for you.

God bless you all!

When I Praise
By Alvin Slaughter

When I praise Your name
Heaven stops to listen
When I praise Your name
with honour bow before You
When I bring a sacrifice
You're worthy to receive
O Lord I know You hear me
when I praise

When I praise
my heaviness can't stay
When I praise
mountains move seasons change
When I praise
in spite of my circumstance
I give You a chance
O Lord I know You hear me
when I praise

Here You are here
If I praise I know that You are here =)
You are here
if I praise

Happy Sunday! =)

Today is Sunday, and I have a confession to make. I didn't go to church today! =( I know what you all will say, but I feel extremely bad already. Well, I actually got dressed and everything, but I didn't make it in time for the school bus. I didn't really know how to take the bus there either. I was hoping my roommate would go so I could go with her, but she got home too late last night and couldn't wake up in time! =( *sigh* I guess one of my reasons was also because I didn't have anybody to go with. I wish my brother would go with me, but he didn't want to either.

In place of church, I asked my cousin for a link to a live broadcast. It wasn't too bad actually. Praise & worship and the sermon were great. But, for me personally, I think online Sunday service is too boring. I mean, I wouldn't do it again unless I have no other choice. I was singing and shouting alone. I was doing everything alone. *sigh* I regretted I didn't go home this weekend. Now this week will feel really dry for me.

Anyway, even if I had to listen to the sermon through internet, I felt like God talked to me today. Today's sermon talked about Psalm 37:4, "Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart's desires." Ps. Chironna said that if God place a desire for something in your heart, that means whatever it is that you want is on its way! AMEN! You just have to believe in God and have faith. Your faith can move mountains! Just like Ps. Andy Wang preached a few months ago that we have to have a dream. We have to have a vision or a goal because God will work with us to reach that dream. We just have to have faith that we will get there. In fact, Ps. Chironna said that we have to act like we've already received what we asked for.

Well, if anybody is interested, here's the link to Ps. Chironna's Sunday service live broadcast. http://viewers.streamingfaith.com/viewer/viewerframes_parent.asp?b=&p=&networkID=1074&WMP=1&WMPv=7&RPIE=1&RPNAV=0
His service is at 11 am. I'm not sure if he has another one before that. Although I strongly discourage you from using this as your only source of daily bread every Sunday. It is good at times when you have to miss church. I believe that we all need to go to church and we need friends that have the same belief as we do. We need that support from church friends. God also use them to shape you into a better person.

Last one before I stop writing. This is especially for my dad. I know he won't read it, but since I won't see him for another 2 weeks or so, I'll just write it here for now. Dad, you are ALWAYS right! I will finally admit defeat to you! =p I don't agree with you a lot of the times, but I admit that whatever you say is always right. Although sometimes it takes me a while to believe or accept it. I lost, as always.. Thanks for all of your advices and I will always look up to you!

Well, this is it for now! I gotta get some work done! =(

Have a great Sunday everyone!

It's GREAT to serve the Lord! =)

Since it's late and I have to go to bed, I will try to make this quick.

I was very happy today... to be exact, I was overjoyed! I don't know why. I had to minister in two services today. I was pretty tired, but I was very happy! I guess that's the power of God's presence. God's presence gives you peace, gives you joy.

I went to church at around 9 AM this morning, and then after service we drove straight to London to have another service there. I got back at Waterloo around 7:45 PM. When I got back, I took out my guitar right away and started praising God! Then my roommate, Wilson, who is also my church friend, was listening to the newest song from True Worshippers called "Yesus". I was so overjoyed and I started to jump up and down in our living room. I was so on fire for God! I pray that this fire will stay within me.

Also, I made a new friend! I believe that it was not a coincidence that we got to know each other. She's been such a blessing for me! It's like meeting a long lost sister in Christ. We clicked right away as soon as started chatting. I hope we can support each other so that we are always ready and on fire for Christ! =)

Lastly, listen to True Worshipper's newest album called "All Things New"!!!

Good nites!

Reading Week

My reading week was actually last week, the week of Feb. 18th, but I haven't gotten the chance to write about it. Anyway, just like any other school breaks, I spent my reading week back home in Mississauga. I am usually known by my friends as the busy-bee, someone who is always busy and always has things to do. But surprisingly, this reading week I was very laid back. I spent a lot of time at home to cook, clean, do homework, etc. I did go out, but not as much as I thought I would! =p

Even though my reading week sounded boring, I actually had a lot of fun. I got to spend time with my family, which I haven't been lately due to our other priorities. On Wednesday of the reading week, I hosted a family shabu-shabu night at home. My older brother was working, but Totoy was also there. The theme of the night was seafood. We had all sorts of kinds from shrimps, squids, scallops, shrimp and fish meatballs, etc. I purposely chose seafood because it was my dad's favourite, although we also had sliced beef and beef meatballs. To start with, the soup was made out chicken bouillon and egg whites. The egg yolks were used in the dipping sauce along with some chillies. We even had sake!! My brother and Totoy went downtown for a haircut, and they brought home a big bottle of sake! =p We drank it the traditional Japanese way, so we warmed it up in a hot water bath before drinking it. I drank enough that my face turned red! Overall, it was one great night!

I also spent some time with the DOT girls. Nia couldn't come with us because she had to study for her midterms. Anton was also already back in Scarborough due to the amount of programming he had to do. So, the four of us went to After Rain, a new Thai fusion restaurant owned by the former owner of Sushi Tei. The restaurant looked great! The food were great! The service was great! I was totally impressed with it. They also served us a grilled mackerel fish on the house. My favourite food was the mango rolls. Mangoes were wrapped in rice, rolled in a vegetarian nori, which was a substitute for sea weed. I've never seen or eaten this vegetarian nori before. To my enlightment, the colour was yellow! =) The sweetness of the mangoes complimented the whole dish and dipping sauce. I had a great dining experience there and I plan to come back very soon!

I also spent some time with Putri. Although we didn't really go out as we always do, she came over to my house to do some homework. We were supposed to go to Waterloo together, or go to Pacific Mall, but she was working most of the days of the week so the trip was cancelled! =(

Another highlight of this year's reading week is that I finally met Martalia, one of Yudi's close friends! I've never met her, but our stories started somewhere back in 2006 or 2007 when she randomly added me on Friendster! =p So, the gang (Yudi, Martalia, Osa, and Regen) came over to Mississauga the night before family day and we watched Step up 2! AWESOME movie, that's all I can say.

Well, I'm not finished talking about reading week, but since it's past lunch time... I'm going to fix myself some food!

Until next time...

HIS goodness is sufficient for me!

God was so good to me today. I went to school this afternoon to study for my midterm tomorrow. It was snowing pretty bad outside, but I couldn't concentrate at home, so I decided to go to school anyway. When I arrived at the Science building, all the desks in the atrium and study rooms were occupied. I wasn't too surprised because everyone is busy with midterms and assignments during this time of the year. But I was upset for a while because if I didn't find a desk, that means I had to go back home. I didn't want to take my chances to walk to another building to find a study spot. I also didn't want to share a table with other friends because I knew I would just talk instead of studying.

Anyway, I went all the way to the top floor. When I realized that there were no empty tables, I started walking down the stairs and I was praying so that at least one of the tables would be available in one of the quiet study rooms. And God is AWESOME! I saw an empty desk RIGHT AWAY! =p It was also on the 2nd floor by the window, so I was able to watch the snow fall the whole time!!! =)

I started walking home at about 9:30 pm. It was still snowing outside. The snow was even worse than before! It was really cold! But my heart was still overjoyed with God's goodness and grace. Have I ever told you that I LOVE walking on fresh snow? =p It felt so good! Only if I was not tied down with midterms and assignments, I would be out there playing with snow, and in the snow right this second!

Alright, I better get to bed or study some more! Please pray for my midterm tomorrow!

HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR ME!
